Lane Splitting Buick Enclave

Dear madame driving the golden-shit-stained-brown with the numerous bumper holes and broken mirror,

So while I approach a red light I park on the left hand side of the lane because there was some fluid spillage in the middle. Just because I'm on the left side of the lane and there is room between me and the car on the right does not mean that you should fly by between us nearly hitting my mirror not to mention me as the light turns green.

Lane splitting with bikes is dangerous and illegal as is. Lane splitting with cars its just insane! Plate ended in 571 or 517.

One of our friends seriously injured by dumb@ss turning into KFC in Elmhurst, IL

The collision occured at: 609 W Saint Charles Rd, Elmhurst, IL

As posted by T-pole on ChicagoRiders.com
Matt got into a pretty bad accident tonight. He just made a turn, so he didn't have much speed. A car turned into a KFC right in front of him.

Aimee said that he had a fractured arm, and fluid (blood?) on the brain.

Everyone, keep him in your thoughts, he's in the hospital right now, not sure how long he'll be there for.

2 pics I got with my phone.

They completely shut down St. Charles West bound, and the cops were laying into the driver of the SUV pretty good. Actually sounded like they were on our side for once.

Additional pictures from an on-site photographer (probably Police photog or local press):

Update

Matt has been moved from one hospital to another, and the bleeding in his brain has slowed. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers folks!

Update 8/6 @1:04PM

From NikkiRR:
[He is breathing on his own now!] He is off his sedation medication now as well. He is still sleeping, but can talk a little bit. Knows where he is but doesnt really remember what happened. Keep those thoughts and prayers coming!

RIP Michael Lechner

Not one, but two motorcycle accidents, stupid cager involved in each (the second one happened because a driver was impatient in the traffic from the first fatal accident!!!!).

Thanks to kawasaki_Joe636 over at CR for pointing this out to us.

A 25-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle collision at about 12:54 p.m. Sunday in Buffalo Grove.

Police identified the victim as Michael Lechner, of the 300 block of Lincoln Terrace in Buffalo Grove.

Police said a car exiting Old Oak Drive collided with Lechner, who was traveling southbound on Buffalo Grove Road.

Police said Lechner was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

A second accident resulted in the congestion caused by the fatal crash. A car waiting in line for traffic to proceed through the intersection of the accident became impatient and made a U-turn, colliding with a different motorcycle.

Police said only minor injuries resulted from that collision.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Southbound Buffalo Grove Road at Golf View Terrace is closed while investigators are on the scene.

Brave or stupid? Definitely lucky.

Soooooo the SC Staff was out to lunch today at about 1PM. We were headed northbound on Milwaukee avenue in Lincolnshire, IL.

Spotted a dark blue, newer (8th gen) Honda Civic. Bald headed guy driving it. IL license plate ending in 1986.

This is what the car looked like, but not the actual car, and the guy wasn't fortunate enough to even have an Si! Hahaha!!

Guy is speeding through Lincolnshire (as most locals can tell you is a no-no since Milwaukee Avenue is a revenue generato.... err speed trap area)... which isn't uncommon, but the next part takes the cake.

He pulls up next to a Lake County Sheriff Tahoe and continues to speed. Nothing. As we passed through Aptakisic, a Lincolnshire PD squad (car #90) turned left from Aptakisic to also head northbound onto Milwaukee Ave.

Civic guy proceeds to cut off the LPD squad (no signal either) not once but twice! Wow that's either brave or stupid.

Luckily for him the LPD squad pulled off into the neighborhood just across from Ernie's Shell station.

Why can't the rest of us have such luck? LOL!

Aha... a place to vent.

Welcome!

If you're here you're probably a rider, if not that's okay too. Cagers (car/truck/minivan drivers) do stupid crap to one another also.

Feel free to post up your comments and experiences, else we'll share those that we have.

Get your clown on.
